Today has been a good day, but then again any day when I get to see all of my sons and my grandchildren is a good day, the only two missing were Bailey who had football, and Jade who went to see Disney on Ice. It was six-year-old Jayden’s birthday lunch, and he loved his helicopter, it was a big hit, and it took some big hits as well, not sure how long that will last.
After a late night last night Brian and I were both pooped, so after we got home we both had Papa naps, and after a big lunch it was a couple of Lean Cuisine dinners for tea. I have never tried Lean Cuisine before, now I know why they call it that, it would need feed a sparrow, and it was quite tasteless as well, if that was all I had to eat I would certainly be lean.
Now for a little politics, I do not expect you all to necessarily agree with me, but then again we do live in a democracy and we are all entitled to our own opinions, I will keep mine concise. I am over all the misogynistic talk about Tony Abbott, you can believe what you like but I do not believe he is a misogynist at all, and I am sure that millions of women around the country will vote for him and the Liberal Party at the September election.
My feelings about Julia Gillard have nothing to do with her being a woman, I do not like her or her politics. I have said before I am a swinging voter and I believe there is a need for change, and then after the Liberal Government has gone its natural course it will again be time for a Labour Government.
I believe that each government does some good things and some bad things, and then they get stale and it is time for a change. The new government, regardless of what they said in opposition, will keep the good things from the previous government and change the bad things.
As for gender, let us not forget that Julie Bishop is the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party and could very well be a future Prime Minister. Then there is Bronwyn Bishop, another fine female politician, and let us not forget Tanya Plibersek and Penny Wong, I would vote for her, and I did vote for Natasha Stott-Despoja. I will not, nor will I ever, vote for Julia Gillard, she may be the first female Prime Minster of this great country but she was not voted in by the people, remember she did not win the last election outright.
Pauline Hanson will never get my vote either, she is just too radical in her thinking, and too narrow-minded. I tell you who I would have voted for, Hazel Hawke, she would have made a better Prime Minster than Bob. Gender should have nothing to do with whether or not anyone deserves any job, the right person for the job is my motto.
